Poets say science takes away from the beauty of the stars - mere globs of gas atoms. I, too, can see the stars on a desert night, and feel them. But do I see less or more?

Hi,

This is Dr. N  S Pujari, a Research Scholar from University of North Carolina, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.

I have a passion for research and it drove me to the wonderful world of Chemistry & Polymers. Research in the polymer field is indeed very wide-ranging since it covers almost every aspect of life.

Development and improvement of the polymeric materials and technologies can be brought by chemical synthesis, modifications, characterization and interdisciplinary work. I tried to build up my research career keeping these things in mind and endeavoured to find the new avenues in the areas including Frontal polymerization, photoresists, macroporous polymers, membrane bioreactor and polymer optical fibres.

I am working in polymers from  more than five  years and have published a number of peer reviewd papers, patens and conference papers.

To know more about my research, see here

"Nature abhors vacuous experimenter." Apart from research, my inspiration and motivation is nature. Various patterns we obtained in the polymeric systems are infact the replications of  the beautiful natural  patterns. I like rambling in the forests and mountains. I appriciate the beauty in all its forms! So for me "Life is beautiful!"

The search for grace,  beauty and peace stops at Indian classical music.  It is an exquisite and ineffable paean of soul. Its like glittering diamonds, offering a multitude of facets that reveal themselves more fully with each listening. I developed my intrest in Indian classical music from my childhood. I took my early education (vocal) from Dr. Ravindra Ghandurde and latter from Pt. P. Kulkarni. I like to sing and listen classical, semiclassical and filmy music, especially, 'abhang' (ahang is rhymns of saints,  the most important medium of comprehending, reaching and expressing the sense of devine mystery and joy). I am a member of Dr. V. Deshpande foundation which works for promotion of Indian classical music.

I am also a creative writer and have written many short fictions and yes some poetry too!(in marathi). I am winner of the prestigious "B. M. Gore Award" for short fiction writing. Many of my stories, poems and popular science articles are published in various magazines and news papers. I like reading scientific literature, philosophy,  spiritual and psycology as well (quite psychic humm?!!). Some of my creations can be seen here

I like chess. Like every Indian, vishwanath Anand is my favorite player. Once upon a time, I wanted to do my career in chess but..!!

World cinema is my weak point. I am a crazy fan of  Akira Kurosawa, Bergman, Zannusi, Truffaut, Kirostami and such great directors and their epic creations. (see more)

I like modern and conventional paintings but I used to run away when it comes to drawing by myself. Thanks to GIMP, I started drawing that to abstract paintings! I am always fascinated by animations. Again due to GIMP and other such softwares, I could explore my imagination.  Enjoy some of my animations here
